About WordRoom

What We Built

WordRoom is a collection of free, privacy-first text tools that run entirely in your browser. We started with a simple observation: most online text tools upload your content to a server, even though they don't need to.

Every tool on WordRoom processes your text locally using JavaScript. Nothing you type or paste is ever sent anywhere. Your work stays on your device.

Why Privacy Matters

When you paste a draft essay, a business proposal, or personal notes into an online tool, you are trusting that service with sensitive content. Many popular tools send your text to their servers for processing — sometimes for analytics, sometimes for AI training, sometimes for reasons that are not clearly disclosed.

We think that is wrong. Text processing is something a browser can do perfectly well on its own, so there is no reason to send your words to someone else's computer.

Our Tools

WordRoom currently offers six tools:

  • Word Counter — live word, character, and sentence counting with correct handling of Indic and CJK scripts.
  • Case Converter — thirteen case conversions including AP and Chicago title case rules.
  • Readability Checker — six readability formulas with sentence-level feedback.
  • Remove Line Breaks — fix text pasted from PDFs and emails.
  • Sort Lines — alphabetical, length-based, reverse, or shuffled sorting.
  • Remove Duplicate Lines — find and remove repeats with full control over comparison rules.

All tools are free, require no sign-up, and work on any modern browser.

Who We Are

WordRoom is built and maintained by a small team of developers who care about web privacy and useful tools. We believe the web should work for people, not the other way around.
